Rupert Wilson is the owner and managing director of Strategic Business Consulting in the U.K. Prior to founding the business towards the end of 1999, he worked at Rothmans International for 17 years in a variety of senior management positions in Africa, Central & Eastern Europe and at Rothmans’ global head office, specializing in strategic planning, M&A, business development and project management. Wilson is now a retained consultant to financial institutions in Asia, the U.K. and the U.S., advising on their global tobacco investments. In South Africa, according to the Financial Mail’s annual awards, he has also been one of the top-rated tobacco and beverages analysts for more than a decade and was ranked first in July 2020.
