Maria Angelova is a Bulgarian national, born in Sofia. She holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Sofia and completed the Program for Executive Development at the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Her previous professional experience includes seven years with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the tax and legal services division in Sofia. As a lawyer, she represented and advised international customers on acquisitions, corporate restructuring, corporate taxation, securitization of claims, and commercial and labor law matters.
She then moved on to join the Socotab Group in 2002 as administration and finance manager of Socotab Bulgaria before moving to the Socotab head office in Geneva in 2007.
Angelova is the head of legal and human resources for the Socotab Group and since 2021, has been leading the Socotab Group sustainability committee.
