George Adams

George Adams is an interventional cardiologist at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, and a clinical associate professor of medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition, he currently holds the title of director of peripheral and cardiovascular research at North Carolina Heart & Vascular.

 He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Texas Southwestern. He then completed a general cardiology fellowship, an interventional cardiology fellowship and a master’s degree in health sciences at Duke University.

Adams is well-published in the field of complex peripheral vascular interventions, treatment for critical limb ischemic patients, development of regional systems of care for ST-elevation myocardial infarction, and nuclear cardiology techniques. He has led a robust clinical research program, enrolling patients in approximately 100 peripheral, carotid and coronary trials, and he is involved with the development of several device and biologic therapeutic treatments for coronary and peripheral vascular disease.

Most recently, Adams has completed his Master of Business degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In his free time, he enjoys weekends on his farm and spending time with his three daughters.
